Nalazite se na tvrđavi „Besac“. Njena bogata istorija je učinila da postane centralna kapija regije “Crmnice” i njenih puteva vina.

Porijeklo ovog utvrđenja koje se izdiže iznad mjesta Virpazar do danas nije sa sigurnošću utvrđeno. Ipak, smatra se da su tvrđavu podigli Turci u XV vijeku, odmah nakon pada Donje Zete. Tri vijeka kasnije osvajaju je Crnogorci što će opjevati i slavni crnogorski državnik i književnik, Petar II Petrović Njegoš. Dalje kroz istoriju različito vrijeme određuje joj i različite namjene. Između dva svjetska rata bila je adaptirana za potrebe žandamerijske stanice, a u periodu italijanske okupacije, tokom Drugog svjetskog rata služila je kao zatvor. 1976. godine zemljotres koji je pogodio Crnu Goru, nanio joj je velika oštećenja.
